What’s known about the Dutchess is this that she came to thune roughly in the middle of its bronze age and would make acting masks. Nobody knows how long she has been building connections behind the scenes because only very recently did she start the Golden Court.
Everybody who has seen has always noted that she looked pregnant and often had at least one or two infants from her. It would later be learned that she had some rare ability with the polymorph spell to turn certain enemies of hers into infants and even into animals for extended periods of time.
Nobody except the that one lady who wanted her powers for herself ever learned about this. She like her arived from another world but unlike most people subjected herself to become an infant for her.
Over the next 600 years of being raised and trained as a Tiny child in mid bronze age got her something an intimate study of eldritch magic.
For the next 1000 years after that into the early iron age of Thune the Dutchess and her growing family would learn about the vast star complexes in the cosmos and the intrinsic eldritch power that sits inside tachyons and dark matter
After discovering that certain kinds of magic are actualy rather common her family asked her if technology could be made magical.
Not understanding exactly what she meant by technology one member of her new family pulled out a broken smart phone
Then with the mending spell the Dutchess got the object working again she asked for more objects like these and if she could perhaps bond to the item.
Soon more and more of her growing family came caryingboxes of gold ingots over to The Dutcheses family members who now also looked close to being copies of her.
Some of her families would return simple objects like Walkmans or pods. While others would return with computer rings.
Whatever gadgets were brought to the Dutchess would disappear though and when asked where they were the Dutchess would only say they are apart of me now.
Eventually once Thun eventered the mid iron age the Dutchess would hand out decks of metal cards to each of her family members who would ask her what this was.
The Dutchess reply
Not magic, Not psionic, Not even scientific. This is something very abstract.
These come from inside personaly, from a place where principles global function all tie together
These cards are built on the rules that govern how to build a functional universe.
It was a way to pay others back for what she was given.
Later it would be discovered that any member of her family could build these.
Soon magical card decks litterd the face of thune. And the then silent family figured out a ways of expanding the their power useing just the red symbols on these cards
They would later be called blood runes and the Dutchess herself would operate under the code name the Queen of Diamonds in public.
Eventualy simple card tricks started triggering magical events all over Thune foundation of 1000 magic mansions linked in a network with eachother.
Then as the heirophant grew in power these mansions entered the backstage unseen but nobody has forgoten they are still there and what a card queen can do
