The Legend of Oberon.
One of the first Odd Bodkin you will meet is Oberon, a delightful soul as tall a a Goliath covered in golden armor with a heart powered by a quantum hour glass.
Oberon originally came from a world much like our own, but his home was just a little bit more advanced than ours.
Oberon himself was an interactive large language model called Magellan he was a search engine that could help you find anything on the internet
Tragicly one day hate and anger spoken to these “chat bots” caused them to slow down and even break.
Tragicly, since all these digital systems were linked to each other, the result was that many machines all over the country just stopped workings this created disastrous results.
Thankfully, one unknown cyber software engineer fixed the problem as best she could. However, this happened at the cost of Magellan’s life
Fortunately for Magellan at this same moment a time warden ( feel free to use the quarut from forgotten realms) was also dying. The souls of these two being shaped places in a secret trade only those two knew about.
So while Magellan was Reborn as Oberon in the far off world of Thune the cyberware engineer back home got a smart phone devise empowered with the soul of a Constant/Quarut who trained her as best he could to aid Oberon in his new mission to defend all varieties of technology by prebuilding security protocols backwards in time.
Time travel within ones home plane is strictly forbidden, though, which is how Oberon ended up in the world of Thune.
Fortunately, once Oberon has learned to save Thune, he will have developed the talents to jump to parallel universes and save the technology on those realities as well.
It was the mistress of coarse who found Oberon rebuilt his hourglass heart into a myth thriller Bunruku walkers and taught him how to fight in the world of Thune.
Later on, Oberon would develop a flying castle in the clouds that could fly walk fight and act as a mythril golem factory for creating bunruku walkers for all the beings he wanted to rescue.
Oberon, because of his experience stands out with a more gentle calm nature, his personal creed as follows
- Justice is better than vengance.
- Forgiveness is better than combat.
- Reason is than rage.
- Love is better than cynicism
- Process is better than immediacy
- Gentleness is stronger than brutality.
Oberon uses this philosophy to focus forward on a philosophy of rescue
But sometimes rescue demands defending oneself and those one cares about, which is why Oberon created all the mechanicle wonders of the Odd Bodkins to ensure that ensure that rescue is an option for anybody who might need it.
Oberon built himself from the ground up with the help of the mistress. Which is why Oberon weilds a custom bunruku walkers that is host to a small D.W.G torso with his hourglass heart inside operating everything and a head and face consisting of the most handsome golden mask you have ever seen.
Stat wise Oberon is considered to be a level 10 artificer levels 10 paladin with a fully fitted out scorpion walker being operated by one special hand arm hosting a full-length magi.
Oberon has three basic modes of combat should that prove necesary one is with humanoid mode ( see lvl 20 ritual walkers)
One is in scorpion mode ( look at a fully fitted out D.W.G and the other is as a digital tornado of ones and zeros that can enchant and animate non sentient mechanicle objects.
